Location: Tamborine National Park
Day 7 – Wow! I can’t believe we are 7 days into our road trip already. Looking back over our road trip I guess we have travelled quite a long distance in such a short time as so far we have stayed in one caravan, 2 hotels and 2 camping parks. It has been surprisingly very easy to book our accommodation considering the high season of traveller and families on Christmas break. Seeing how we are only camping with tents we always manage to squeeze into some camping park.
Tamborine National Park I found using Australian Tourism App so I decided to research it a bit more. I discovered there are a couple of waterfalls to check out in the park, we decided to check out Curtis Falls. The waterfalls themselves were nothing really special in my opinion, however, the walk through the rainforest was spectacular, with beautiful spiral trees growing around, huge tree ferns and the mighty Australian grey gum trees. As our journey progressed through the forest I became a little unsettled walking underneath all the screeching bats hanging in the trees, luckily these are just fruit bats and I had nothing to really worry about. I highly recommend this for something to do as it’s just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Gold Coast (roughly 30 minutes). Also its a great way to start the day with some exercise with a morning stroll exploring new territory.
If we had more time we would have check the other falls out, but we had to pick up our final road tripper Craig in Brisbane. Just outside Craig’s house was this beautiful peach tree!
