After almost 4 years of living in the State of Victoria, I have finally made it to the Great Ocean Road to see the magnificent Twelve Apostles.
Ever since I moved to Melbourne I have been talking about taking the 3-4 hour drive to see the Great Ocean Road but there always seem to be another place to visit instead. Well I am happy to have finally made the journey and to have my Mom along for the ride during this fabulous Easter holiday. The view from the Great Ocean Road is absolutely breathtaking and truly one of the most amazing road trip view wise, that I have ever taken. If you live in Melbourne or a tourist visiting here for a couple of days, I recommend you take one weekend and just go for the drive and stay overnight and enjoy the view and all the area has to offer.
We booked our hotel on our drive down thinking we would not have much option left being the long weekend but surely we lucked out and the first motel we called they had a room available for all 3 adults. It was a perfect spot in Apollo Bay with a beautiful ocean view, it definitely lived up to it’s name – The Great Ocean View Motel
Apollo Bay is protected by a very large dead reef which acts a the perfect breakwater for the towns beaches. The view from the reef rock was mesmerising to watch the mighty oceans waves relentlessly pounded against the shore. The overcast dark blue clouds did not stop me from wanting to capture the waves in my favourite new navy sheer dress from H&M that is only exclusive to Australia, one of my many purchases after the grand opening a couple weeks ago.
Thanks for reading more exciting photos to come…stay tuned.
