We were lucky to have a great taxi driver/tour guide named Gede (pronounced Good Day) take us to the Batuan temple and explain to us Balinese Hindu.  It was a day of ceremony and everyone was out traveling around in their special outfits going to celebrate Kuningan Da. He gave an introduction into the Hindu faith while walking us through the temple. I enjoyed this as I was very curious about the Hindu religion as it is one religion I have not yet come a crossed in my travels. I loved all the banana leaf handmade offerings they made twice a day and leave outside their doorway to give thanks.

The temples are full of so much detail and stories that it is a lot to take in. You get a good sense of their faith and how much it means to them everywhere you go in Bali and it made me appreciate how much they keep to their traditions still and you have to be happy as they are so happy it is infectious.

I love and appreciate the fine detail and art the Balinese put into everything that they design and do.
