Waterfalls = Happiness
I am a massive fan of visiting waterfalls when I travel. They are so beautiful no matter the size and they bring such an amazing feeling inside when you see them. Even more so when you see them up close and person you can literally feel their power. I use to live an hour and half drive from one of the most famous waterfalls in the world Niagara falls and 2 years ago we visited it and I remember standing next to the falls was intimating how much you feel it’s power.
If I could go on a trip around the world just to visit all the amazing waterfalls that exist and swim or jump off them I would. The scene in the movie The Beach when Francois jumps off the top of the waterfall will be forever my favourite movie moment. One day I will jump off a waterfall cliff just like it!
Until then I will just have to keep visiting ones like Tegenungan Waterfall which is hidden away in Ubud, Bali. We went on a day where all the locals were hanging out checking out the view themselves. It is an easy 5 minute walk down on the stairs it only gets tricky if you want to go and swim under the falls. As you can see in the photos above the local boys having troubles walking along the edge. The place is just surrounded by magnificent palm trees and there is a restaurant at the top if you just want to witness the falls from a far.
We did not have anytime at all to spend here which was disappointing as we were so hot and all we wanted to do was jump in the cool water to relax after a long day of shopping in Ubud. Just before we were leaving I noticed someone on top of the waterfalls photographing it (not jumping) though I have seen some a photo of man jumping off it on here. One day I will get my chance…
